Specialist Focused Shockwave Therapy Clinic in London

Storz medical Duolith SD1 T-Top ultra focused shockwave equipment

Expert-Led Clinical Protocols

Be Vibrant Physio has served as a leading London clinic for advanced recovery treatments since 2017.

Our Richmond-based centre specialises in Extracorporeal Focused Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), providing a clinical alternative to surgery and traditional treatments for clients across Greater London and the UK.

Led by Nim Ragbir BSc (hons) MCSP HCPC MIMST, we combine evidence-based protocols with extensive clinical experience to optimise recovery for a broad range of conditions.

Focused Shockwave Therapy (fSWT) is a clinically proven medical intervention for a broad spectrum of acute or chronic conditions, ranging from tendinopathies and bursitis to ligament sprains, sciatica and fibrotic scar tissue.

At Be Vibrant Physio, we utilise the Storz Medical Duolith SD1 T-Top Ultra with a SEPIA handset - the most advanced focused shockwave equipment. This specific technology allows for the precise delivery of high-energy acoustic waves to targeted tissue depths, stimulating cellular repair and modulating pain signals where traditional therapies may have failed.

Whether you're based in London or travelling from elsewhere in the UK or abroad, our specialist team will create a tailored treatment plan for your condition.

The Science of Focused Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (fSWT)

Focused shockwave therapy is a non-invasive medical procedure that uses high-energy acoustic soundwaves to trigger biological healing responses at a cellular level. Unlike traditional treatments, fSWT can stimulate angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) and neurogenesis (the formation of new nerve pathways), effectively 're-starting' the healing process in sub-chronic, chronic or stalled conditions. It is particularly effective for breaking down adhesions, fibrotic tissue, calcific deposits, and modulating inflammatory activity.

Focused vs. Radial: Why Precision Matters

Many clinics offer 'Shockwave Therapy' using Radial Pressure Waves. While useful for superficial conditions, radial pressure waves spread out from the applicator head and rapidly lose energy with tissue depth, typically penetrating only 3 - 4cm.

At Be Vibrant Physio, we use Focused Shockwaves (fSWT). These are high-velocity acoustic soundwaves that converge at specific focal points with depths of up to 12.5cm. This allows us to deliver precise maximum energy directly to the site of the condition.

Focused (fSWT)

  • High-velocity soundwaves. Concentrated energy. Ideal for deep-tissue, bone, and precise tendon work.

Radial (rSWT)

  • Slower pressure waves. Superficial energy. Ideal for large muscle groups and skin-level treatments.

For conditions such as the ones listed below, the pinpoint accuracy of focused shockwave therapy provides the high-energy depth and precision required for targeted tissue rehabilitation.

The right treatment approach is key to optimising recovery.

The Clinical Pathway: Your Treatment Experience

At Be Vibrant Physio, we follow structured, evidence-based clinical protocols to ensure the highest standards of safety and effective treatment.

Your journey with us follows a structured pathway:

Following your free 30-minute phone call, we perform an in-depth physical assessment. We review your medical history and use diagnostic techniques to confirm that Focused Shockwave is the optimal pathway for your specific injury.

During the procedure, a conductive gel will be applied to the area before using the Storz Medical applicator. You will hear a rhythmic clicking sound as the acoustic waves are delivered.

Unlike generic treatments, our focused therapy is bio-feedback driven. We adjust the intensity and frequency in real-time based on your sensation and the tissue response, ensuring the energy is delivered precisely where it is needed most at a level within your pain tolerance.

Our standard clinical treatment plans typically involve 5 to 8 sessions, usually spaced 1 week apart, allowing time for the body’s biological healing and regenerative responses to develop between treatments.

Where appropriate, shockwave therapy is complemented by structured stretching and exercise programs to support comprehensive rehabilitation. We provide a bespoke plan throughout the treatment plan to support tissue adaptation and help minimise the risk of recurrence.
